Bleak economy and fiery politics

Blogging is hard. It's been a few days and I couldn't think of anything interesting to blog about. So I'm jumbling things I can think of.

First of all, I am going to answer my friend's question based on economy. Don't get me wrong. I am just trying to answer them based on the knowledge I have. And fyi, I have never taken the Economy subject when in Secondary school. So treat this like an exam to me. You economy experts out there be my teacher. Be sure to correct my wrongs.

"Based on the fluctuating global economy now, raising the interest rates could dampen growth further."

This is because a higher interest rate will encourage people to store their funds in the bank. It will discourage the people from exercising their purchasing power and cause the economy to look bleak. People will spend on what they need only, instead of what they want. And industries that thrive on producing goods which the people wants will experience loss.

"A stronger currency would be a good monetary policy option to combat inflation."

As we all know, the global economy is in a big crisis. Well... I am not too sure actually but from the reports or news I've read, it is in a big mess. Inflation means the rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is rising, and, subsequently, purchasing power is falling (I got this definition from www.investopedia.com). A stronger currency would reverse inflation. A stronger currency will result in cheaper exports and increase of purchasing powers. But it also pose a potential danger to exporting countries. A country with stronger currency means the exports are more expensive than the other competing countries with weaker currency. This could very well damage the income from the exports of that country. This relates to the last statement.

"Malaysia exporters have resisted a stronger currency as they worry that it will erode the competitiveness of their exports."

A stronger currency will cause the exported goods to be more expensive to the importers. And so, Malaysia exporters are resisting a stronger currency as to maintain a competitive stance against exporters from countries with weaker or near similar currency. This way the exports of Malaysia will be more guaranteed. If Malaysia's currency were to grow stronger, the importers would be importing goods from other countries with cheaper goods instead of importing from Malaysia.

And then we move on to politics. The hot topic nowadays is the sad fate of GLCs (Government Linked Companies). Tajuddin is accused of plundering the funds and is being sued in court. But out of nowhere, all GLCs are to drop all claims. A jaw-dropper, I know. Now the GLCs have to settle the large debt by themselves. If you guys didn't know, Najib and Rosmah were in the court complex for interviews. I read a comedic sentence from Malaysiakini.com at here.

"Karpal described Rosmah as very tense when asked questions and at at one point, she said, 'Do not bully me, Mr Karpal.'"

LOL!! I don't know who dares to bully her but I know for sure that I don't have the guts. Her fists adorned with diamond rings pack a punch.

Ezam with his blazing remarks about how rude the news portal are towards JAIS' action at DUMC. Everyone should be careful with what they say. If you're too rude, you'll be the target of the witchhunt.

Chaos... 2 more weeks to a very important day. How much more chaos can erupt in this period of 2 weeks time?

How many can see beyond trivial matters?

Tahu cakap tapi tahu buat?

Hello everyone. Here's another video review. It's actually a video from the same YouTube user called kawasaki9722. You can watch the first video review I did at here.

Below is the video I'm going to review, called "Tipu Tipu Malaysia". Actually, I'm going to talk about the part in the beginning only cause I don't have that much time to correct every nonsense they can come up with. If there's are 10 requests for me to do a complete review on this video, I will do it. I just need 10 comments by 10 different people. Anonymous commentators are not valid.

So in the beginning, the Malay guy mentions about the injustice of Khir Toyo's case. If that judicial officer's pocket is filled to the brim with Ringgits and instructed not to mention the value of Khir Toyo's house in court, do you think that uncle masih mahu cakap?

And then they move on to talk about Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim's case and how his case is being delayed constantly. Now we discuss about DSAI's case. Two very important witnesses that are ex-IGP Musa Hassan and former Malacca police chief Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof have no guts to face him so the interviews with them are stalled. How do we blame Karpal Singh in this situation? The prosecution claims Anwar is capable of intimidating the two witnesses. Wow? Only the guilty would feel intimidated. If you do no wrong, what are you scared of?

Other than the two mentioned witnesses, our current PM and his wife are also listed as witnesses. The attempt to interview two cops is already made into a big joke by the media, what will it be like when it is Najib and Rosmah's turn? Judge Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah even made a loophole for the PM and his wife by saying that attendance by the witnesses is voluntary. Such an important case and he allows the attendance by witnesses to be voluntary? For all we know, the PM and his wife could have already planned a long vacation ahead and is ready to be absent at every hearing of Anwar's case. The prosecution not only caused the delay but also made the entire case a big joke. Those jokers... I'm terribly disappointed with them. To think I once dreamed of being a lawyer.

Finally, before I forget, happy belated birthday to Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. This post was meant to be done yesterday on his actual birthday but procrastination got to me. Apologies on my behalf. And I hope more people will comment and follow me on Facebook and Twitter. It really gives me the motivation to continue what I am doing. Thank you very much.

PS. What I say may not be the truth because your definition of truth may not be the same as mine.

Boon from Blasphemy

Woot~

I noticed this video from the Malaysiakini.com news portal. My lucky day. This is like a treasure find for trolls like me.

First of all, you all should waste 8:20 minutes of your lives to watch the following video. And please don't vomit or laugh too much because I have yet to give my opinion.

'Sembang Rakyat'? LOL? Can you please choose a more suitable title? First of all, the old man claims both newspapers are the same . That is wrong. There are differences between newspapers. Let me give you an example. Some newspapers act as a political party's mouthpiece. Some newspapers publish real news and get to have 'regular meetings' with the Minister of Home Affairs (refer here to understand more).

Next, I would like to emphasize on the claims made by the sad Chinese guy. Sad because he is selling out his own race. So a lot of Chinese people are doing business. And the majority of DAP members are Chinese. So is it true the big towkays in DAP caused price hikes in order to gain votes? HELLO!!! ARE YOU REALLY LIVING IN MALAYSIA FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS??!?!? If DAP wanted to use this unscrupulous method to win votes, they would have done it ages ago. Why now? Suddenly DAP wanted to be the ruling party so they used such a method? Or the strategists in DAP are such slow thinkers that they only discovered this tactic recently? Bravo!! That means if there are any price hikes in other countries, one of the many possible reasons is a political party which the majority of its members are businessmen did it in order to win the election.

And if you still don't know, the prices of goods such as sugar, flour, cooking oil, petrol and etc are controlled by the government. If there are really any of these so-called DAP businessmen who increased the price of goods just so their party can garner more votes, what are the use of those law enforcement officers from State Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry? Is the video implying the inefficiency of officers from that ministry?

WOW~ After all that cock-and-bull story about Chinese businessmen increasing the price of goods, they suddenly turn the conversation around by bullshitting about the very few good-hearted Chinese people. Some sort of compensation to MCA, I guess. After that, there's a part where the Malay guy rants about how we should support the current government and claims that if the opposition parties were to rule, it wouldn't be much better than the present situation. Those stooges think it would get worse. "Belum cuba, belum tahu."

One last thing about the video. They claim that Kedai 1Malaysia's goods are way cheaper and have a difference between 30% to 70% compared to other shops. Hello to the uncle from that video, are you claiming sugar, flour and other controlled goods can be that much cheaper at Kedai 1Malaysia? Other products which are not controlled may vary in brand, quality and quantity so it is only logical that the price vary also. Is it possible goods sold by Kedai 1Malaysia are not imposed by tax? So cheap? No wonder... If Rosmah's jewellery is already exempted from tax, so are the goods of Kedai 1Malaysia. Our PM is very thoughtful. XD

PS. You can lie, I can lie. My opinion is mine, yours is yours. I'm like the boy who cried wolf. Would you believe my words? :)
