#SWkuching & Pesta Konvo UniMAS

GAH!! Feels like forever since my last update. I'm going make it up to you guys with many pictures. :D

We had an election a few weeks ago to choose the representative of 1st year FCSIT students. I was nominated but didn't win. Congrats to Henry who won! Woohoo!!!

Can you guys see the SPR logo? The situation is so serious. o.o'"
Just last week, I participated in the Digi's Challenge for Change workshop, also known as Startup Weekend internationally. Very grateful for the wonderful experience and wealth of knowledge I've accumulated during the 48 hours. Met up with a lot of cool people too. Especially Jason, the super nice mentor from NZ.

I know what's on their mind. "When are you going to stop goofing around?!?!"
The boss of our marketing team seriously stressed out after the presentation.
Intermission time. A beautiful scene I caught with my 5MP handphone camera. Seriously considering a DSLR. Canon? <3

Somewhere over the rainbow~
Yesterday!

During practise. I was slacking. :p
On our way to McD around 2am. xD
Yep, that's me sippin' some tea.
Wish I could have what they're eating.
We ate and relaxed while watching a Spongebob movie. All dozed off and forgot about practise. Except our captain. He woke us all up and we went back to our rooms around 5am. o.0

And just this morning, Derrick and I walked around the campus to witness the various events happening.  There's the fishing competition. 1st prize is a motorcycle and 2nd is an iPad. What is there to lose? At BHEP, our university's version of Master Chef takes place. There's the auto show. Talked with an uncle who owns a VW beetle and pays only RM11.20 annually for road tax. I think I better let the pictures do the talking. :D

More hooks entangled than fish caught, I presume.
Professionals and their knives.
Kebab Tunok <3
Spiderman's mode of transport?
I wish I own Fredo. :')
Front is for NOS, girls can sit in the trunk.
My friend's team cooked up these great looking dishes. Good job, Benjy!
The seriously professional team even tagged their food.
And that's all for today. I have dance practise at 10 later. Wish me luck for the streetdance competition tomorrow. And I just realised that I always end my post with a picture of my friends in CAIS. Here's another one. :p
So focused! =.=

Dead yet?

I was afraid for awhile that my blog might fail like its predecessors. How I wish I could be more active online I do not possess a broadband modem and the wireless connection is oblivious at my room. My university life is hectic because I took part in various activities which I enjoy very much. But practice sessions for the coming street dance competition consume too much time and it makes me lack sleep.

From the time when last night’s practice session ended around 2am till now, I have not slept a wink at all. FYI, it is 6.49am now. I plan to walk over to my faculty around 7am so that I can go online. Then I’ll upload this post and do some other stuff that I desperately need to complete using Internet. For example, Facebooking. Then I’ll sleep in SIR (Student Interaction Room) till 10am which is the time when my first lecture of the day starts. SIR is a room reserved for FIT students only. Hurrah!!!

Recently, my friends and I participated in the 30 Hours Famine program as volunteers. Aside from the negativity such as exhaustion, starvation and severe lack of sleep, it was very rewarding overall. I learnt more about appreciation and gratification. That 30 hours made me reminisce my mum’s cooking. How I regret the times when I detest and complain about the dishes she prepared. I miss my mum. :’)

"RM100 pergi sana. Lu mau naik tak?"

"Yes, I can carry you!" he said to a girl at the balcony.

All stressed out cause a friend is stuck in the toilet.

Hard at work though we're hungry.

The nicest artwork of a particular challenge but they didn't win.

*sigh*

This is a relatively short post because I wanna take a bath soon and then start walking towards my faculty. Which takes around 10 minutes. That’s if I don’t fall asleep or faint on my way there. Wish me luck.

PS. I hope I still have readers following my blog.

How's Malaysia Day?

This is a continuation from the previous post. Woke up at 5.50am sharp. The two of us walked back to our respective hostel so we can get ready for the morning's program. Everyone gathered and marched to the designated area. I actually got a seat but was forced to move to make way for the ladies. I'm a gentleman ba~

Can you spot the sleeping beauty?
The gang and I went to Kolej Allamanda for lunch. Ordered 'bakso' from the noodles stall. Delicious but the meat balls tasted kinda funny. Rotten, I guess. And then we saw crabs on our way out. CRABS?!?! How many canteens/cafeterias/food courts actually served crabs as one of the economy rice dish choices?

Crusty crabs. o.o
Roamed around the university and took pictures. As if we were tourists.

We believe we can fly. ^^
Emotional break down while waiting for the bus.
The bus came around 30 minutes later and we walked to Desa Ilmu. This is not my first time there. Will blog about it after this. Brought the first-timers to go shopping. I act as the GPS. A really efficient one. I made sure our last stop would be Sunrise Cafe. A non-halal coffee shop. :D

All act like 'towkays' after the sumptuous meal.
And so the next morning was very sunny so I took the golden opportunity to wash my big pile of clothes and hung them all on the 10 meter string I bought with a friend. A hot cup of Nescafe and Robert Kiyosaki's book kept me company as I watch over the clothes.

Watchdog. Criminals beware.

Birds bombed his laundry. XD
The story to this pool of blood is quite complicated. Allow me to cut to the chase. Someone fell down from the stairs that morning around 7am. I found out it was my housemate who fell a few hours later. He had a big gash across his left eyebrow.

The crime scene.
Jorim sent me to the Spring that afternoon. Met up with Dyllon and his girlfriend, Sherry. Had a really nice chat with them. Too bad we didn't take any pictures together. :(

Actually I met Kelly and Chia Xin at MPH first while waiting for the 'royal' couple. LOL! Hung out with them after dumping Dyl and Sherry. We were going to take a cab back to uni but fortunately another friend came to our rescue. Got acquainted with the three of them at a coffee shop as we enjoy the afternoon tea.

And so on this Sunday morning, I went to Samarahan Methodist Centre. Ate breakfast alone at Sunrise while watching Captain America. When I got dropped off at the hostel by a very friendly driver, I went back to pick up my laptop and headed for the library. Met Kelly and Chia Xin there again. How lucky! HAHAHA!!

We did calculus for the entire afternoon. I kept ushering them to take lunch but neither budged. So we postponed our meal till around 4pm. Ate a seriously odd dish. Still curious why the rice is blue coloured.

 Nasi Kerabu Kelate.
And then we had a long winding conversation till 6, I guess. BAM! And we're back in the library. As I type this post, they're...
Both busy Facebooking. Not doing their tutorials. :p

UNIMAS, a first.

In the 24 hours study room alone
Currently, I'm at the 24 hours study room with a friend. He went out to "water" some plants so I was alone for awhile. There's another stranger in the room with us actually. But he's sleeping on the chairs.

Let's get back to the main track. My first week in UNIMAS is... exhilarating. The smell of freedom is so sweet but at the same time, the weight of responsibility increases.

Too lazy to talk about what happened during my orientation week. Also known as Majlis Aluan Pelajar (MAP). Will just post pictures cause my memory is kind of hazy regarding the previous week.

The last day of waking up from my bed in September 2011.
The convoy to Kuching. Nice picture considering the fact that I'm using a 5MP phone camera.

The hills actually look great from my view.
Stayed over at a relative's house without Internet access for 3 days. Yes, I'm a slave to Internet. :p
We're the first batch to use DeTAR PUTRA Hall!

All of them are texting in unison.

Marching to DeTAR PUTRA Hall early in the morning for Majlis Ikrar Pelajar (MIP).

Not Domo-kun but still eye-catching.

Something magical that the LOs did to make everyone fall asleep.

Memories they'll treasure forever.

Mid-Autumn Festival without family. :(

Entranced by this traditional Melanau dance.

HAHAHA!!! So fragile~ Can't even last the month.

Enjoying the beautiful scenery. :)
So fast sleep. =.=
So my friend is on the verge of slumber. I think I'll do the same cause we'll be participating in the Malaysia day event tomorrow morning at 7am. And there's so much more to blog about so I'm keeping this short. Good night~

03092011; Durian Driver

Today is a day filled with exciting adventures. For you guys, it may seem trivial and looks like a small case. But bear with my story anyway cause you get to feast your eyes at some very good looking King of Fruits. :D

My mum woke me up today. Told me to fetch my littlest brother to school. But I continued to snooze for awhile before waking up to find my dad still asleep. Hehehe! My mum already walked out to shop for groceries. There's only grandma and aunt in the house. So I ran off with the car keys and sent my brother to school. My hands were both shaky with excitement since it's been awhile since I last handled a car. DIVINE PLEASURE!!! XD
RM100 for these 2 piles.
Later on, Dad brought me to eat breakfast at Yum Yum near the bus station as suggested by me. We were supposed to pick up my littlest bro from school around 11am. It's 10.40am and Dad actually wanted to drive home but I suggested that we go for a drive around the Wong King Huo roundabout. I got really confused when we reached the roundabout cause my dad turned right instead of left which is headed for school. Turns out my dad changed his mind and went sniffing for durians nearby Farley. We actually bought RM100 worth of durians today.

Y U SO SMOOTH?
King of Fruits looking good~

We got around 10 durians for RM100 and the size of each fruit isn't too small. I will try to describe the King of Fruits to you guys. DIVINE PLEASURE 2!!! HAHAHA!!! The meat of the durian is so soft like tender raw meat and sweet like the nectar from a blooming flower. The smell will penetrate your noses without any warning. Exaggerating?

Lunch break! I actually forgot to eat lunch. But the most memorable thing about today's lunch time is I actually drove my mum around town. DIVINE PLEASURE 3!!! This has never happened before cause my mum doesn't have faith in my driving skills. :( Y I KEEP DRIVING?!?! WAKAKA!!! :D

Interested in attending 'Cutting Up Durian 101'?

The 'I-never-eat-before-but-I-want-more' expression.
Totally forgot what else I did after that. I napped for awhile during dinner time. Ate and showered. Went to Sing Kwong for more shopping. And then when we got home, D.E.S (Durian Eating Spree) event took place once again. All the durians were gone. DIVINE PLEASURE 4!!! Left some for my little bro who's in prefect camp right now.

Shout out to the girl who I confessed to today. DIVINE PLEASURE 5!!! (Wah... Macam 'Final Destination 5'). If you're reading this, I dedicate the song below to you. :)
